KidZone “Kidz-on-MISSION”
Who we are serving this time? We dream of a world in which every girl has at least one new dress!
Why? We want girls to know that they are worthy of love and respect. That God loves them!
By providing a new dress you may well be changing a young girl’s destiny. Village pastors say that a girl wearing a new dress presents an appearance that she is well cared for and may discourage people who might harm them. Giving a girl a new dress raises her dignity as well as how she is viewed by others.
The newly hand-made dresses and shorts are sent to the charity, they then arrange distribution throughout the world to children in poverty and areas of need.
Can you help make a dress or two? Can’t Sew? Will you help provide materials or knit a hat or little bag? Check out the website for ideas: www.dressagirlaroundtheworld.uk
Please let Chris Cookman or Debra Evans know if you can help us.
Baptisms
On Sunday 26th July we will be meeting in Bakewell Park and baptising in the river. If you have not been baptised and would like to be please talk to your group leader or one of the elders.
Jigsaw Tin Bin
Thank you for the regular contributions to the tin bin. Items such as pasta, rice, and tins of meat, fish, tomatoes, fruit, soup and vegetable are ideal. Can we please remind you that no fresh produce is to be put in the tin bin.
Praise in the Park
On Saturday 4th July in Hall Leys Park at 3pm, Churches Together in Matlock are hosting an afternoon of worship and drama. The event is open to all and will be held at the bandstand. If you can offer help with stewarding or before or after please let Justyn know.
