We exist to worship God & encounter his presence, committed to advancing his Kingdom through local church communities caught up in mission here and to the nations.
One of our founding prophetic verses was Isaiah 41:18: "I will make rivers flow on barren heights and springs within the valleys". Our expectation is for an outpouring of God's Spirit on dry and thirsty hills and valleys and we also believe that this river will flow out and affect towns and cities around the Peak.
God also gave a prophetic picture of fires burning in many places over the Peak District. This has shaped our vision for community groups in each community and for churches being planted wherever we have clusters of these groups.
Neal & Julia live in Matlock with their four children. They joined the church in 2006 and lead a community group which meets in Matlock.

Peter & Pamela live in Rowsley and have two children, Matthew and Chloe. Peter is a GP working in a practice in Bakewell.

In 1987 God prompted a couple called Dave & Gill to start a Church, at first meeting in their home in Sheldon to pursue God and more of His Holy Spirit. As we grew as a Church, we started needing to hire bigger places to meet in whilst God did amazing things and more and more people joined us.
We joined the Newfrontiers family of churches.
God spoke prophetically to us that "our strength to increase would come from without" and since this time we have seen a steady increase in the number of people coming to join us and enquiring about the church.
Tim and Becky Davies felt God's call to church plant in Buxton and moved from Crewe to join us.
Our first church plant started with the Buxton community groups gathering together for their own Sunday meetings, lead by Tim & Becky.
The Church moved to County Hall in Matlock having outgrown the facilities at the Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale.
Chesterfield church started meeting at New Street Centre, Chesterfield.
Dave & Gill who started and led the church from the started were released to wider ministry in supporting related churches in other countries. Dave handed the leadership of the church on to the team of elders.
